Although considered a doyen of dark cinema, Guru Dutt began his filmmaking career with lighthearted crime dramas, appreciated for their peppy music and intriguing shadow play in black-and-white cinematography. It was a privilege to write & narrate a film on the master for his own production company, Guru Dutt Films Pvt. Ltd. Filmmaker Uday Shankar Pani has directed the documentary sensitively, handling the visual flow almost caressingly.
