Bhimani Interview

Reminiscing Lataji. Rajdeep Sardesai interviewing Harish & Sunil Gavaskar.

This is less of an interview, more of historic bytes. And then there are anchoring bits.

Most of the credit for this remarkable interview goes to Syed Mohammad Irfan – of the then Rajya Sabha TV – who did not conduct a formal interview; rather he he was chatting casually – प्रोग्राम का नाम भी तो है ‘गुफ्तगू’!

यूँ ही बातों बातों में… when the interviewer inquired about the lapsed time, it was well past the episode duration! Oh, okay, “We’ll make it a two-episode interview.”  He asked his assistant to make sure to remind him at the end time. So, the conversation continued…

… and no one quite knew when we crossed the three-episode mark! After some merciless editing – the writing & filmmaking parts of my career were snipped out! – it still became a record-breaking 3-part Guftegoo!
